Geometric and Arithmetic Frontiers of Orbifolds II: Arithmetic and hyperbolicity

June 5-9, 2023

The aim of the workshop is to continue our study of orbifolds and Deligne-Mumford stacks. We aim to fix a common methodology for working with the classical and general theory of orbifolds. This will highlight some recent applications to the arithmetic, hyperbolicity and geometry of orbifolds and stacks.

The workshop will be held as an in person virtual hybrid event. It will be the second in a series of events related to the CNRS International Emerging Actions (IEA) award “Birational and arithmetic aspects of orbifolds,” to take place in alternate places.

The workshop will consist of a collection of minicourse lectures and research talks. The minicourse lectures will be given by Stefan Kebekus, Andrew Kresch and Angelo Vistoli.

We have limited funds available in support of local expenses for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Should you be in need of funding please reach out to any organizer prior to the end of March.

Registration is now closed.
